The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Community Dietitian to join the Nutrition and Dietetic Service within the North East Quadrant of NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde on a 6-month fixed-term basis. Working as part of a friendly and enthusiastic community dietetic team, the postholder will provide dietetic services across a diverse population of all ages and backgrounds. The role requires excellent communication, behaviour change, and motivational skills to support patients in making lasting lifestyle changes that help prevent and manage a range of health conditions.
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) may be able to provide visa sponsorship for certain roles, subject to the post meeting the relevant eligibility criteria. Sponsorship is not guaranteed and will be determined on a case-by-case basis following interview and during the pre-employment verification process. Duration, Location, and Working Pattern
- Permanent, Full-time
- Shift pattern - 5 over 7
- Base location - Springburn Health Centre
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver evidence-based dietetic care to patients in community settings, including homes, clinics, care homes, and supported accommodation.
- Assess and provide nutritional advice for a range of clinical conditions across all age groups.
- Work collaboratively with patients, carers, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Supervise and support student dietitians, dietetic support workers, and administrative staff.
- Develop and deliver nutrition education and training for healthcare professionals.
- Contribute to quality improvement projects, service development, and health improvement initiatives in line with local and national priorities.

Knowledge, Training, Qualifications, and/or Experience Required
- BSc Degree in Dietetics
- Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
- Membership of the PVG Scheme / Disclosure Scotland
- Current UK driving licence
- Knowledge and application of evidence-based dietetic practice.
- Strong communication, behaviour change, negotiation, teaching, and mentoring skills.
- Ability to contribute to service development and quality improvement activities.
- A PVG WILL BE REQUIRED FOR THIS VACANCY
