Introduction
There’s no place like Heathrow when it comes to the scale of our ambitions. Together, we’re working to welcome millions more passengers while ensuring aviation can continue to be a force for good by leading global efforts in sustainability. Our Communications, Communities and Carbon function brings together engagement, communications and sustainability leadership. This is about more than protecting and enhancing our reputation. Focusing on the experiences of our passengers, colleagues and partners, we ensure that as Heathrow thrives, so too will our people, our communities, our country and our world.
Our sustainability strategy, Heathrow 2.0, is central to everything we do. We are committed to sustainable aviation, as Heathrow works to deliver net zero and build a better place to live and work. We work with industry leading experts to deliver on our ambitions, meeting the growing international demand for flight in a way that creates a positive impact far beyond our airport.
Job Description
Join Heathrow’s Communities and Residential Property team, a team dedicated to building trust and fostering positive relationships with the communities surrounding the airport.
As a Community Engagement Coordinator, you will play a vital role in supporting engagement strategies that address key operational impacts and community concerns, helping to protect and enhance Heathrow’s reputation as a responsible neighbor.
In this role, you will work closely with Community Engagement Manager to deliver tailored engagement activities, ensuring that local voices are heard and reflected in Heathrow’s decision making. You will be at the heart of the issues that matter most to our communities, capturing feedback, supporting events, and maintaining clear communication channels. Your work will directly influence how Heathrow responds to community needs and supports its strategic expansion plans.
Your role will involve
- Build strong understanding of local communities, ensuring their needs and feedback inform engagement and decision-making.
- Support the planning and execution of community events, including logistics, speaker coordination, and on-the-day engagement.
- Manage and respond to community inquiries through the Community Relations Helpdesk, ensuring timely and accurate information is provided.
- Capture, record, and share stakeholder feedback with internal teams to inform business decisions and improve community relations.
- Assist in producing clear, accessible communication materials across digital and traditional channels to keep communities informed.
- Prepare reports and updates on community engagement activities and emerging issues for senior leadership review.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
