Contract: Permanent, part-time
Hours: 22.5 hours per week (0.6 FTE), with flexibility to meet business needs
Salary: £16,800 per annum (£28,000 FTE)
Location: Sunderland Software Centre (Sunderland), The Catalyst (Newcastle) and Northern Design Centre (Gateshead), with regular travel across the North East of England and hybrid working where appropriate. You’ll need a driving licence and access to a vehicle, and availability for occasional evening events (typically around once a month).

About the Role
The Community & Events Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the day-to-day delivery of Dynamo North East's activities. The successful candidate will provide high-quality administrative support across membership engagement, events, governance, communications and organisational operations, helping to deliver an excellent experience for members, partners and stakeholders while contributing to the continued success of the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Membership Support
- Build and maintain positive relationships with members, acting as a responsive point of contact.
- Welcome and onboard new members, processing applications, renewals and membership updates.
- Respond promptly to member enquiries and maintain accurate membership records within the CRM system.
- Proactively engage with members through office visits and face-to-face meetings, building strong relationships and encouraging participation in Dynamo's activities.
- Coordinate the production and distribution of the monthly newsletter, member communications and organisational updates.
- Gather member feedback and insights to support continuous improvement.
Events Support
- Support the planning, coordination and delivery of Dynamo events.
- Source and coordinate venues and suppliers, ensuring value for money and high-quality service.
- Coordinate event registrations, attendee communications, and liaison with speakers, sponsors, exhibitors and other event stakeholders.
- Monitor event registrations and attendee information, ensuring accurate records and a positive delegate experience.
- Attend and support Dynamo events, including occasional evenings and early starts.
- Represent Dynamo professionally at member, partner and stakeholder events, acting as a positive ambassador for the organisation.
- Support fundraising and community engagement activities for the Dynamo Digital Inclusion Fund, including sourcing raffle prizes, coordinating donations and supporting charity visits, fundraising events and related activities.
- Maintain event records and support post-event evaluation.

Organisational Support
- Take accurate minutes for Board and other organisational meetings, ensuring clear records of discussions, decisions and actions.
- Support with the management of Dynamo's shared inboxes, ensuring enquiries are responded to promptly and professionally.
- Maintain and update the Dynamo websites with member news, events, jobs and other relevant content, ensuring they remain accurate, engaging and up to date.
- Proactively source news stories, events, jobs and industry insights from members and other relevant sources to keep the websites current and valuable.
- Ensure organisational files, systems, project management tools and CRM records are maintained, organised, accurate and kept up to date.
- Identify and research prospective members, sponsors, award entrants and strategic partners, maintaining accurate prospect lists and supporting records.
- Coordinate and strengthen Dynamo’s impact reporting process, ensuring key activities, outcomes, engagement data and success stories are captured accurately and consistently to demonstrate the organisation’s value and impact to members, partners and stakeholders.
- Provide administrative support for proposals, presentations, reports and other organisational activities where required.
The post holder will be expected to undertake any other duties commensurate with the role and level of responsibility, as reasonably requested by the General Manager or Chief Executive Officer.

Essential

- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
- Willingness to work occasional evenings.
Desirable
- Experience supporting or coordinating events.
- Experience of fundraising or supporting fundraising activities.
- Experience working within a membership organisation, charity or not-for-profit organisation.

- Positive approach: We're looking for someone who is enthusiastic, proactive and committed to delivering a high standard of work. The successful candidate will be receptive to feedback, willing to learn and able to adapt to changing priorities. Training and support will be provided to help you develop in the role.
- Flexibility: This role requires flexibility to attend and support Dynamo events, including occasional evenings and early starts. You will normally be expected to support or attend at least one evening event each month, whether delivered by Dynamo or hosted by one of our members or partners. Additional events may be required from time to time, with reasonable notice provided wherever possible.
- Travel: This role involves regular travel to member offices, meetings, partner organisations and events across the North East of England. A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential to fulfil the requirements of the role.
