Heart of England Co-operative Society – Funeral Division

Heart of England Co-op Funerals is a small, independent, regional business operating through 14 funeral homes across Coventry, Warwickshire, South Leicestershire and Northamptonshire. We are committed to delivering the highest standards of professionalism, dignity and compassionate care to every family we serve.

We are seeking a dedicated and community-focused Community Funeral Director to be based at our Coventry branch with flexibility to support other branches as required.

A Role at the Heart of the Community

This role is ideally suited to someone who is well-connected within the local community and has experience arranging and delivering funerals in accordance with a range of cultural and religious traditions, including (but not limited to) Hindu, Sikh, Jewish and other faith communities represented within the local area. An understanding of religious customs, ceremonial requirements, and cultural sensitivities is essential.

The successful candidate will act as a trusted professional within the community, supporting families with empathy, respect and expertise at one of the most significant times in their lives.

About the Role

As a Community Funeral Director, you will take responsibility for overseeing funerals from the point of arrangement through to the day of service, ensuring operational excellence and outstanding client care throughout. You will work both independently and as part of a team, sometimes under pressure, maintaining exceptional attention to detail and professionalism at all times.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
