The Role - Centre Innovation Manager
We’re recruiting someone to take ownership of an exciting new Manchester destination made up of flexible spaces within converted shipping containers. The units can be used in different ways, from offices and independent businesses to services and activity spaces.
You’ll be the person who knows the spaces, the occupiers and the local community inside out. This is a varied role combining day-to-day management, relationship building and a commercial eye for what could work in the space.
What you’ll be doing
- Make sure the spaces are well presented, running smoothly and delivering a great experience for occupiers and visitors.
- Get to know existing occupiers, understand what they need and deal with issues as they arise.
- Show prospective occupiers around and help them picture how the space could work for their business.
- Work with a business development team that brings in leads, then build relationships and help turn interest into occupancy.
- Develop connections across Manchester’s business, creative and entrepreneurial communities.
- Bring people together through events, introductions and partnerships that give the destination energy and purpose.

You could come from flexible workspace, a members’ club, a creative venue, hospitality or another setting where you’ve looked after a space and the people using it.
You’ll be personable, organised and confident taking responsibility. You’ll have a good network in Manchester, enjoy meeting new people and be comfortable talking about the commercial potential of a space. You don’t need to be a full-time salesperson, but you should enjoy giving tours and helping prospective occupiers make a decision.
