An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Community Nurse to join our team in West Caithness.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated registered nurse to work as part of our community nursing team, providing high-quality, person-centred care to patients within their own homes and community settings.

The role offers a varied caseload and the opportunity to develop a broad range of community nursing skills, including assessment and care planning, wound management, long-term condition support, palliative and end-of-life care, and working closely with other health and social care professionals.

You will be joining a supportive team working across a rural locality, where good communication, flexibility and the ability to work both independently and as part of a wider multidisciplinary team are essential.

We welcome applications from experienced nurses as well as those who are newly qualified or new to community nursing, with support and development available to help you build your skills and confidence in the role.

A driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes are essential due to the rural nature of the post. Pool vans may be available.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
