Community Outreach Volunteer

As a Community Outreach Volunteer you will help us to raise the profile of Help Counselling within West London communities - enabling us to reach more people in need of low cost counselling and also connecting us with supporters, partners and donors.

What difference will you make?

The Community Outreach Volunteer(s) will play a vital role in raising awareness of our counselling services across the three London boroughs where we primarily operate.

  • You will be the charity’s local ambassador, linking the community with our services and ensuring those most in need are aware and able to access them.
  • This will make a huge difference to those in the community who experience barriers to mental health services - whether through lack of awareness, cost, language or cultural sensitivities.
  • Our service is designed to remove these barriers and ensure that affordable counselling services are available to all regardless of income, background, or where they live.

Your community outreach work will also help us forge relationships with local charities, community organisations and other networks. This is valuable both in promoting our services and reaching those in need, but also in reaching supporters and donors. As a small charity, it is essential to have community support for the work we do.

This is a hands-on, rewarding role working in the heart of the community. You can help us ensure those in need can access quality, affordable mental health support which for many can be a lifeline.

What are we looking for?

Essential Requirements

  • Must live in, work in, or have extensive knowledge of and networks within at least one of these London boroughs: Kensington & Chelsea, Westminster, Hammersmith & Fulham
  • At least 3 years’ experience working in marketing, communications, campaigning, fundraising, events management or a similar role
  • Confident, articulate communicator who can represent the charity professionally to diverse audiences
  • Willing to engage with a variety of organisations and community groups in person and remotely
  • Reliable, organised, and able to manage own schedule with minimal supervision
  • Passion for mental health awareness and reducing stigma around accessing counselling
  • Basic IT skills including email and ability to use simple online record-keeping systems
  • Commitment to upholding the charity’s values and maintaining confidentiality

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
