Job Introduction

Are you an experienced Phlebotomist who enjoys working independently and providing compassionate care to patients?

We’re looking for a Band 2 Community Phlebotomist to join our Community Nursing team, based at Sheppey Community Hospital.

You’ll spend much of your working day out in the community, visiting patients within their own homes to obtain blood samples following referrals from Community Nursing teams and GPs.

For some patients, accessing traditional healthcare settings can be challenging, so the care you provide within their home can make a real difference. You’ll need to combine excellent phlebotomy skills with a calm, compassionate and professional approach, making patients feel comfortable and reassured throughout their appointment.

You'll organize your workload, travel between patients and carry out venipuncture independently, while knowing when something needs to be escalated to a senior colleague or GP.

If you’re an experienced Phlebotomist looking for greater independence and the variety that comes with community-based working, we’d love to hear from you.

A full UK driving license and access to a car during the working day are essential for this community-based position.

Package Description

As a Band 2 Community Phlebotomist, you’ll be part of our valued Community Nursing team, based at Sheppey Community Hospital and visiting patients within their own homes across the local community.

This is a great opportunity to use your phlebotomy skills in a community setting, working independently while being supported by experienced nursing colleagues.

You will feel valued within HCRG Care Group, receiving access to exclusive rewards and benefits including:

  • Membership of My Reward Hub, giving you access to discounts on everyday purchases such as grocery shopping, as well as cashback and voucher offers
  • Access to your wages as you earn them to help cover life’s emergencies and avoid overdraft fees or high interest rates
  • Online and face-to-face support with your mental and physical wellbeing, from healthy recipes and activity challenges through to post-trauma support, legal, debt and life management help, career coaching and counselling
  • Access to eLearning, bespoke career pathways and opportunities for continuing professional development through our ‘Outstanding’ learning and development team, The Learning Enterprise
  • An open, just culture where you’re encouraged to share ideas and contribute to improving the way we deliver care
  • The opportunity to develop your experience within a supportive Community Nursing service

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
