We Are Looking For Practitioners Who
We are seeking two enthusiastic and skilled Band 6 Community Practitioners to join our innovative and integrated Health and Social Care team, NEWST.
Based within Northumberland Children's Social Care, NEWST is a specialist clinical team dedicated to helping professionals and families better understand a child or young person's presentation within the context of their lived experiences. This is a rewarding opportunity to be part of a service that is making a meaningful difference to the lives of children, young people, and families across Northumberland.
As part of an exciting service expansion, NEWST is extending its offer to support a wider cohort of children and young people, including those receiving support through Family Help, Edge of Care services, and Children in Care services.

We Are Looking For Practitioners Who
- Are passionate about improving outcomes for vulnerable children and young people.
- Have experience working with children, young people, families, and multi-agency partners.
- Understand the impact of trauma, attachment, and adverse childhood experiences.
- Can work collaboratively across Health and Social Care systems.
- Are committed to relationship-based and trauma-informed practice.
- Bring strong clinical, communication, and consultation skills.
Successful candidates would have the opportunity to develop skills in the following areas:
- Assessment and formulation (including clinical risk assessment and management)
- Offering advice and guidance
- Training and development others
- Psychologically informed interventions
- Complex case work (childhood trauma and ACE’s)
- Supporting understanding of co-morbidities
- Multi-agency working
