Community Programme Manager
The Golf Foundation
Salary: Circa £40,000 plus £450 per month Car Cash Allowance
Location: Flexible working from home, with national travel.
The Golf Foundation is a charity that uses golf to help children and young people grow in confidence, support their wellbeing and find a sport they can love for life, whatever their background.
This is a brand-new role and an exciting opportunity to help shape how the Foundation works with communities across Great Britain and Ireland. Our new vision sets out plans to take a more focused, place-based approach. We will work alongside communities to understand local needs, build trusted partnerships and create lasting opportunities for young people to develop mental toughness and life skills through golf.
Initially, you'll lead the development of pilot projects with one or two strategic partners in targeted communities, helping to test, refine and develop a model that can be scaled nationally over time.
Working with the Foundation's flagship programmes, including Unleash Your Drive and GolfSixes League, you'll develop innovative approaches to increasing participation, strengthen partnerships across sectors and demonstrate the wider social impact golf can have on young people's confidence and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, pilot and delivery of innovative place-based community programmes with one or two strategic partners, listening to local needs and shaping activity around the communities you serve.
- Build strong partnerships with schools, local authorities, charities, community organisations, National Governing Bodies, trusts, foundations and other key stakeholders.
- Develop trusted relationships that support long-term community impact and identify opportunities for collaboration, funding and innovation.
- Test new approaches to increasing participation amongst underserved communities and use learning to help shape a scalable community engagement model.
- Support local partners with the guidance, resources and relationships they need to deliver sustainable community activity.
- Measure programme outcomes through participation data, insight and community feedback, producing reports and capturing stories that demonstrate impact.
- Champion the Golf Foundation's values, safeguarding responsibilities and commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.

Skills and experience
You don't need a golf background. Some of the strongest candidates may come from community development, local government, education, youth work, charities, public health, housing, sport or other sectors where partnership working and social impact have been central to their role.
We're particularly interested in people who can demonstrate:
- Experience developing and delivering community, place-based or social impact programmes.
- Excellent partnership-building and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong project and programme management capability.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills.
- Experience measuring impact and using evidence to improve programmes.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.

Additional Information
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is required.
- Enhanced DBS check will be required for the successful candidate.
How to apply and what happens next
The Golf Foundation is partnering with level= to run a fair and inclusive recruitment process using anonymised work sample assessments. This means candidates are assessed on their skills, experience and approach to the role.
The recruitment process will include:
- Submit your CV to register interest by: Friday 21 August 2026, 5pm. You'll receive an automatic email within 24 hours with a link to the Job Pack (including full process details). Please check your junk/spam folder just in case the email took an unexpected detour.
- Complete the anonymised work sample tasks by: Monday 24 August 2026, 12pm.
- Interviews: Early September 2026, TBC
At the first stage there is no CV review. Instead, you'll complete five short scenario-based questions (250 words each) focused on how you would approach the role. Your responses will be anonymised and independently assessed against criteria agreed in advance with the Golf Foundation.
Everyone who completes the assessment stage will receive feedback.
