Community Regeneration Assistant
Viking Centre, Barton-upon-Humber
16 hours per week, Permanent, Salary: £11,613 per annum
We're looking for a friendly, organised, and community-minded individual to join our team at the Viking Centre.
As a Community Regeneration Assistant, you'll be the welcoming face of the centre, supporting customers, community groups, and visitors while helping to deliver a wide range of activities and services. No two days are the same, and you'll play an important role in ensuring the centre remains a welcoming and vibrant place for local people.
What you'll be doing
- Providing excellent customer service face-to-face, by telephone, and via email.
- Supporting room hire bookings, activities, and events.
- Promoting services, opportunities, and activities taking place at the centre.
- Carrying out a range of administrative tasks to support the smooth running of the building.
- Working closely with colleagues, volunteers, and partners to deliver a positive experience for all visitors.
- Supporting the day-to-day operation of the centre, including reporting maintenance issues and helping maintain a safe and welcoming environment.

What we're looking for
You'll have:
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Good organisational and administration skills.
- Experience of using Microsoft Office applications.
- The ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team.
- A positive, flexible approach and a passion for working with people and communities.
Flexibility and team working
We're looking for someone who enjoys working as part of a team. You'll support colleagues when needed, including providing cover during periods of annual leave, helping us maintain excellent service for customers and communities.
The role is primarily based around the Viking Centre's opening hours of:
- Tuesday: 9:00am to 6:00pm
- Wednesday: 9:00am to 6:00pm
- Thursday: 9:00am to 5:00pm
While the post is contracted at 16 hours per week, flexibility is required as working hours may vary across these opening times to provide operational cover and meet the needs of the service.

This role requires an Enhanced DBS check.
