About The Role
Lead One Manchester’s Community Safety service, acting as the operational lead for Community Safety, Domestic Abuse and Safeguarding. Manage, support and develop the Community Safety team to deliver effective case management, excellent customer outcomes, regulatory compliance, value for money, and strong partnership working.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead and develop the Community Safety team, providing coaching, guidance, case oversight and performance management.
- Ensure timely and appropriate interventions, support for victims, and enforcement action against perpetrators.
- Oversee safeguarding and domestic abuse services, managing risk and ensuring effective case management and review.
- Develop and implement policies, procedures and service improvements in line with legislation, regulation and best practice.
- Act as the subject matter expert on Community Safety, Domestic Abuse, Safeguarding and ASB, providing advice to colleagues, senior leaders and external partners.
- Manage resources, budgets and workloads to deliver high-quality, customer-focused, value-for-money services.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with internal teams, statutory agencies and community partners to achieve shared outcomes.
- Ensure legal cases are evidence-based, compliant with current legislation and represent value for money.
- Drive customer engagement, using feedback and insight to improve service delivery.
- Respond to complaints, MP and Councillor enquiries, and represent One Manchester at external forums when required.
- Monitor performance, KPIs and service outcomes, using data and insight to drive continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety, equality, diversity and inclusion, data protection, safeguarding and other statutory requirements.
- Promote One Manchester’s values, behaviours and commitment to excellent customer service.
- Lead, motivate and develop high-performing teams through coaching, mentoring and constructive challenge.
- Foster a culture of accountability, inclusion, collaboration, continuous improvement and innovation.
- Support organisational objectives, service improvement initiatives and talent development.
- Champion Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging (EDIB) across the team and wider organisation.

What We’re Looking For
We’re after someone who has:
- Significant experience in Community Safety, ASB, Domestic Abuse and Safeguarding service delivery.
- Proven experience leading and developing high-performing teams.
- Strong knowledge of housing-related legislation, ASB powers, safeguarding and legal processes, including civil court procedures.
- Experience working with solicitors, barristers, partner agencies and key stakeholders.
- Excellent judgement, problem-solving, communication and influencing skills.
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities.
- Commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.
Desirable
- CIH/BTEC qualification (or willingness to work towards).
- Full driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes.
