Responsibilities

The Community Safety team is seeking an ambitious and highly motivated Community Safety Operational Manager to play a pivotal role in delivering York's community safety priorities and statutory responsibilities. Working within the multi-agency York Community Safety Hub and reporting directly to the Head of Community Safety, you will lead operational delivery across a broad portfolio of community safety themes including:

  • Prevent and Counter-Terrorism
  • Serious Violence Duty
  • Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG)
  • Hate Crime
  • Community Cohesion
  • City Centre Safety
  • Anti-Social Behaviour and Crime Prevention

This is an exciting opportunity to influence service delivery across the city, working with partners from policing, health, housing, safeguarding, education, probation, and the voluntary sector to tackle some of the most complex community safety challenges facing York.

Hybrid working arrangements are available for this role. Each role at CYC is different and your working arrangements will be determined based on the requirements of the role and in collaboration with you and your needs as part of the recruitment process. Your contractual location will be the designated council office for your team.
