Community Staff Nurse - District Nursing Service
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the District Nursing Service in Northumberland for a full-time Community Staff Nurse.
We are looking for an enthusiastic staff nurse to join our district nursing team in the Tweedmouth District nursing team based in Berwick. This is a fantastic opportunity to become a team member in an exciting service committed to providing patient-centred care to patients in their own homes, residential care settings, and in clinics. Working closely with GP surgeries and local care homes.

Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality care and support to patients with terminal illnesses and their families, including emotional support and bereavement care.
- Undertake comprehensive patient assessments and deliver skilled nursing interventions, including wound management, palliative care, and catheter care.
- Perform and interpret diagnostic tests, including Ankle Brachial Pressure Index (ABPI) measurements using Doppler equipment, and take appropriate action based on clinical findings.
- Carry out clinical procedures requiring a high level of skill and dexterity, including venepuncture, administration of injectable medications, and removal of sutures.
- Provide patients and carers with clear information regarding treatment plans and care interventions.
- Maintain and promote high standards of professional nursing practice through evidence-based care, continuous professional development, and the sharing of knowledge and experience with colleagues.
- Work collaboratively as part of the multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, effective, and person-centred care.
- Maintain a duty of care to patients, carers, and colleagues by exercising personal and professional accountability in accordance with relevant professional standards, policies, and guidelines.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient care and maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Contribute to service improvement initiatives and support the achievement of organisational objectives and quality standards.
