Are you a compassionate and enthusiastic Registered Nurse with an interest in public health and improving outcomes for children and families? We are looking for Band 5 Community Staff Nurses to join our Childhood Immunisation Team within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde. Working primarily in community-based clinics, you will play a key role in delivering the routine childhood immunisation programme for babies and young children, helping to protect the health and wellbeing of local communities. You will be supported by an experienced team and receive full immunisation training if required. All roles will be assessed for sponsorship eligibility in line with current Home Office requirements. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) can only issue a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) where these are met.
Posts are available across Glasgow North West & West Dunbartonshire and Renfrewshire/Inverclyde. While posts are aligned to specific localities, all positions are employed on a NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde Board-wide basis and cross-boundary working may be required to meet service needs.
Duration, Location, and Working Pattern
- Full-time and part-time positions available
- You will be based Boardwide (hosted service Glasgow South HSCP), with main base being in Northwest & Renfrewshire
- Working Pattern: Monday - Friday

Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part-time hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, effective and person-centred childhood immunisation clinics within community settings
- Administer routine immunisations to babies and children in line with national guidance and local policies
- Work in partnership with children, parents, carers and multidisciplinary colleagues to promote positive health outcomes
- Organise and coordinate clinic activity, appointments and immunisation records within designated areas
- Maintain accurate electronic clinical records and ensure compliance with professional and organisational standards
- Support health promotion initiatives and provide immunisation advice and education to families
- Participate in clinical governance, audit, risk management and ongoing service improvement activities
Knowledge, Training, Qualifications and/or Experience Required to Do the Job
- Registered Nurse with current Part 1 NMC registration
- Relevant or significant nursing experience with an interest in public health and community-based services
- Experience of delivering childhood immunisations would be advantageous although full training will be provided
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with children, families and colleagues
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small multidisciplinary team
- Good organisational, leadership and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage a varied workload
- Evidence of continuing professional development alongside a sound understanding of the NMC Code and current healthcare standards
