Community Support Advisor

Preston - Hybrid, with regular community-based work
Fixed-term until March 2027
£25,664 + benefits

LHH is supporting a community-focused organisation that supports individuals facing financial and social challenges to improve their circumstances as they recruit Customer Support Advisor.

This role supports individuals experiencing financial and energy-related hardship to improve their situation through practical guidance, structured support, and ongoing encouragement.

We are looking for people from a wide range of backgrounds who are motivated to support others and willing to learn. What matters most is your ability to communicate clearly, stay organised, and remain calm and focused when working with people in difficult situations.

In this role, you will:

  • Work directly with individuals in their homes, community settings, and over the phone
  • Help them understand their options, access available support, and take clear steps toward greater stability
  • Manage your own caseload, keeping accurate records and ensuring each person receives consistent and appropriate support
  • Work with external organisations and service providers to help coordinate the right assistance
  • Provide full training, including support to complete a Level 3 qualification in Energy Advice

The work can involve sensitive conversations and supporting people during challenging periods, so you will need to be resilient, patient, and able to maintain professional boundaries.

This role would suit someone who is practical, reliable, and comfortable taking responsibility for their work. As the role involves regular face-to-face work in the community, you will need to be able to travel locally and have access to a vehicle.
