Our team staffs a telephone service that operates from 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday.
We are the first point of contact if people wish to make an urgent referral for care and support from any of our adult social care teams or request occupational therapy and assistive technology assessments.
We provide support to customers already in receipt of social care services if their circumstances change.

You must be organised, able to multitask, and be able to think on your feet to resolve issues. The role necessitates a high level of autonomy and initiative. Professional curiosity is encouraged, and it is vital that you are able to communicate effectively over the phone. Alongside our telephone service, we also utilise multiple systems for recording and processing duties. Being familiar with MS Teams & Outlook and digital phone/electronic communication systems is vital as a starting point.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Full training will be provided, but a background in adult social care would be extremely beneficial, as would experience/skills in customer service-based roles. The role is challenging but rewarding, and there is a need for a calm approach when responding to urgent situations.
The team is Hybrid, working either in the office or from home – this can be flexible to meet individual’s and the team’s needs.
As a team, we set the bar high and are committed to innovation and transformation of the service, and we are looking for individuals who meet our forward-thinking ethos to join our team. We are looking for individuals who are talented, excellent communicators who also have outstanding IT skills. If you have a passion for providing excellent customer service, assisting individuals who need the support of the local authority, and would like to learn new skills and knowledge, then we are waiting to hear from you. If this sounds like you and you are wanting to be part of a committed, supportive, vibrant, outcome-focused team, then please do apply.
