Are you passionate about safeguarding?
Do you enjoy working in a fast-paced team?
Are you innovative and seek to continually improve the services you deliver?
As a Community Support Worker within the Safeguarding Team you will be triaging Safeguarding referrals. You will carry out the initial information gathering to determine if a Section 42 needs to be progressed. You will also be carrying out Safeguarding enquiries. Your team will have an office base and can work in a hybrid way. You will undertake visits to people in their own homes, in a hospital setting or wherever the person feels most comfortable to meet you.
About the Role
The purpose of the Safeguarding Adult Team is to ensure that there is a consistent and timely approach to applying safeguarding thresholds, identifying and addressing immediate risk and establishing the outcomes of the person involved, in line with Making Safeguarding Personal principles. The focus is on making safeguarding personal and therefore the service user remains at the centre of the enquiry.
- You will provide short term intervention during which time you will aim to make enquiries to enable you to:
- Apply safeguarding thresholds
- Identify and take steps to address any immediate risk
- Meet or discuss with the person involved to establish what their outcomes are in relation to the safeguarding enquiry. Where there are any doubts about the person’s capacity to consent to the enquiry and advise of their outcomes, a mental capacity assessment and if necessary best interest decision in relation to this will be undertaken
- Establish who is involved with the person’s care and who needs to be involved in the enquiry
- Hold a strategy meeting or discussion

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
