Company Description

OMAR MILLER is an organization based in Birmingham 48-52 Allcock Street. B9 4DY. Role Description

The Community Volunteer role is an on-site volunteer position located in Birmingham. Volunteers support daily community-focused activities such as assisting with local events, helping organize supplies, welcoming and guiding visitors, and providing general support to staff and community members. This role involves working closely with diverse individuals, listening to community needs, and responding with empathy and respect. Volunteers are expected to follow organizational guidelines, maintain confidentiality when appropriate, and reliably attend scheduled shifts to ensure consistent support for ongoing initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Ability to communicate clearly, listen actively, and interact respectfully with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong organizational habits, reliability in following schedules, and attention to detail in completing assigned tasks.
  • Comfort working on-site, including basic physical tasks such as setting up spaces, organizing materials, and supporting events.
  • Demonstrated interest in community service, social impact, or supporting local initiatives.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, receiving direction and offering help proactively.
  • Basic problem-solving skills and a calm, adaptable approach to changing needs or priorities.
  • Willingness to adhere to safety procedures, confidentiality standards, and organizational policies.
  • Prior volunteer or community engagement experience is helpful but not required; all necessary training will be provided.
