Driving Miss Daisy Didcot
Driving Miss Daisy Didcot provides a service bridging the gap between taxis, public transport, and voluntary agencies. Supporting senior citizens, families, and vulnerable people of all ages to remain independent, safe, and socially connected.
ROLE PURPOSE
The Companion / Passenger Assistant provides professional, warm, and reliable companionship to clients at home and in the community. The role includes supporting clients during journeys as a passenger assistant when required. Driving is not essential but is an advantage for reaching clients not accessible by public transport.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide respectful and professional companionship
- Support clients during outings, appointments, and at home
- Assist clients safely as a passenger assistant during journeys
- Carry out dynamic risk assessments
- Escalate concerns relating to client welfare
- Manage time effectively and remain flexible
- Act as an ambassador for Driving Miss Daisy
TRAINING & COMPLIANCE
- Enhanced DBS check required
- Mandatory training including Safeguarding & Disability Awareness Course, Dementia Awareness, Autism Awareness, and Moving & Handling

ESSENTIAL
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Experience supporting vulnerable people
- Excellent communication skills
- Empathy and professionalism
- Ability to work independently
DESIRABLE
- Full UK driving licence
- Knowledge of Didcot and surrounding areas
