Company Accountant/Finance Manager

Maidenhead
£70,000 per annum
Fully Office Based
ACA / ACCA / CIMA Qualified

The Opportunity

We are recruiting for a Company Accountant / Finance Manager to join an interesting and ambitious organisation based in Maidenhead.

Reporting directly to the CEO, this is a broad and highly hands-on position with responsibility for the finance function across three connected entities: an operating company managing a major development project, the company funding the project, and an associated charitable foundation.

As the primary finance professional within the business, you will take ownership of the complete accounting cycle, ensuring accurate financial records, strong financial controls and full compliance with statutory, taxation and reporting requirements.

You will work closely with the CEO, Directors and Trustees, providing timely financial information and commercial insight to support decision-making, strategic planning and business growth.

This is an ideal opportunity for a qualified accountant who enjoys genuine ownership and wants a role where they can operate at both a strategic and hands-on level.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day finance function across all three entities
  • Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports for the CEO, Directors and Trustees
  • Prepare annual budgets, forecasts and cash flow forecasts
  • Maintain accounting records and financial systems
  • Take responsibility for statutory financial, taxation and reporting obligations
  • Manage and submit VAT, Corporation Tax, CIS, Companies House and Charity Commission requirements
  • Manage sales and purchase ledgers, supported by the Office Manager
  • Process and reconcile bank accounts
  • Prepare year-end accounts and liaise with external professional advisers
  • Manage fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules
  • Administer or oversee payroll and associated statutory requirements
  • Manage pension obligations where applicable
  • Oversee supplier payments and monitor customer receipts
  • Manage credit control and support debt recovery where required
  • Prepare financial information for banks, insurers and other external organisations
  • Maintain and strengthen financial controls, systems and procedures
  • Identify opportunities to improve profitability, efficiency and cost control
  • Provide financial advice and commercial insight to the CEO, Directors and Trustees
  • Support the wider administration team with finance-related queries

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
