Company Accountant in Blairgowrie
Cooper Parry Finance Recruitment is delighted to be partnering with a long-established organisation with deep local roots, to recruit a Company Accountant in Blairgowrie. This is an opportunity to join a respected organisation with a strong heritage, a loyal customer base, and a genuine commitment to supporting its local community. The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the General Manager and working closely with the Board, you will take ownership of the finance function and provide accurate, insightful financial information to support decision-making across the organisation.
This is a broad and varied role that combines financial stewardship, operational support, and team leadership. You'll be the key finance contact within the business, ensuring robust financial controls are maintained while identifying opportunities to improve processes and support future growth.

Key responsibilities will include:
- Production of monthly management accounts and financial reporting
- Preparation of budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections
- Supporting year-end processes and liaising with external auditors
- Responsibility for VAT, payroll, pensions, and statutory submissions
- Monitoring financial performance and providing commercial insight to management
- Maintaining strong financial controls and governance processes
- Managing day-to-day banking and treasury activities
- Supporting systems improvements and operational efficiencies
- Overseeing key administrative functions and company records
- Leading and developing a small administrative team
- Building strong relationships with external advisers, insurers, and banking partners
This is a hands-on role where you'll be involved in both the detail and the bigger picture, making it an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys variety and ownership.
The Candidate
We're looking for an individual with strong accounting fundamentals, sound commercial judgment, and the confidence to build credibility across the organisation. You may already be operating as a Company Accountant or Finance Manager, or you may currently be a Senior Management Accountant, Assistant Finance Manager, or similar, looking for your first opportunity to lead a finance function.

- Experience producing management accounts and financial reporting
- Strong understanding of financial controls and accounting processes
- The ability to analyse information and provide meaningful business insight
- A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to work with senior stakeholders
- Good systems and Excel capability
- A hands-on approach and willingness to support across a varied remit
- Previous team leadership or supervisory experience would be advantageous
Above all, we're looking for someone who is dependable, pragmatic, and keen to become a trusted member of the leadership team.
Benefits and Conditions
- Salary of £50,000 - £60,000
- 30 days annual leave including designated bank holidays
