This is an exciting opportunity to launch or develop your career in company secretarial practice, corporate governance and compliance within a FTSE 100 environment. Supporting the Company Secretariat team, you’ll gain valuable exposure to the governance frameworks that help a global defence, aerospace and engineering organisation operate effectively and responsibly. Working alongside experienced professionals, you'll build specialist knowledge, develop your expertise and contribute to activities that directly support the success of the business.
The Role
As a Company Secretarial Assistant, you’ll support the delivery of high-quality company secretarial and corporate governance services across Babcock International Group PLC and its subsidiary entities. This role is designed as an entry point into the governance profession and is ideal for someone with a genuine interest in company law, corporate governance and regulatory compliance. You'll gain hands-on experience in a listed company environment, providing an excellent platform for long-term career development and professional growth.
Day-to-day, you will be responsible for:
- Assisting with maintaining statutory records and corporate information for Babcock International Group PLC and its subsidiary entities.
- Supporting the preparation and submission of Companies House filings, including confirmation statements and other statutory documentation.
- Preparing draft board minutes, resolutions and routine governance documentation for review.
- Support with annual report and annual general meeting
- Supporting a broad range of governance, compliance and company secretarial activities across the organisation.

This role is full time, 37.5 hours per week and is based at Wigmore Street, London. Hybrid working arrangements are available with the expectation of at least three days working in the office and the rest working from home.
Essential Experience of the Company Secretarial Assistant:
- Demonstrating a strong interest in company secretarial practice, corporate governance and company law.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Highly organised and methodical with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Proactive and adaptable approach to work.
- Strong sense of ownership and accountability.
Qualifications for the Company Secretarial Assistant:
- Educated to degree level or equivalent.
- Graduate of the Chartered Governance Institute is desirable
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) and Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
