I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
The role will include:
- Supporting Board and Committee governance processes
- Managing public company governance and compliance requirements
- Supporting UK Companies Act obligations within a US-listed environment
- Overseeing global entity governance and working with local providers
- Supporting wider corporate governance projects across the business
- Helping improve processes and introduce greater efficiencies across the function
We’re looking for someone with a strong company secretarial / governance background who is comfortable operating in a listed business environment. Previous UK public company experience would be particularly useful, while US-listed or international governance exposure would be a real advantage.

This is an interim requirement, so the client is more focused on someone who can hit the ground running than finding somebody who ticks every box of the permanent specification.
It’s a great opportunity to join a business going through significant transformation, work closely with senior stakeholders and the Board, and gain exposure across both UK and US-listed governance.
Please get in touch if you’re immediately available or coming to the end of an assignment.
