Robert Walters has partnered with a highly regarded, UK-based infrastructure organisation to appoint an Interim Company Secretary into a key role supporting the Board and executive team. Operating at scale and at pace, our client is a major player in the UK's energy transition and is seeking to appoint an experienced governance professional to shape and lead best-in-class corporate governance function. This is an interim role for 3 months with hybrid working available.

The Role

Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, the Company Secretary will:

  • Take ownership of the governance framework across the group, ensuring effective Board operations, robust compliance, and continuous improvement of governance practices.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the Board and Committees, contributing directly to high-quality decision-making and organisational integrity.
  • Lead the planning, coordination and delivery of Board, Committee and shareholder meetings.
  • Prepare agendas, Board packs and governance materials.
  • Attend meetings and produce accurate, high-quality minutes.

Your Background

  • Significant experience operating at Company Secretary level, ideally within a complex or regulated environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK corporate governance and statutory requirements, ideally within the energy sector.
  • Proven ability to support Boards and senior stakeholders.
  • Excellent drafting, communication and organisational skills.
  • High levels of discretion, integrity and professionalism.
