Compartmentation Surveyor

Salary: £35,000–£50,000 per year + expenses

We are looking for an experienced Compartmentation Surveyor with broad technical knowledge and, in particular, strong experience in firestopping and passive fire protection.

This is not a beginner role. We are looking for someone who can hit the ground running, work independently and use their experience and initiative to identify issues that may not always be immediately obvious.

The Role

The role will involve carrying out compartmentation surveys across the UK, so the successful candidate must be comfortable with regular travel and staying away from home when required.

You will be expected to:

  • Attend sites across the UK and carry out detailed compartmentation surveys.
  • Survey entire buildings or work to specific requirements and briefs set out within FRAs or by the client.
  • Use your technical knowledge and experience to identify defects, deficiencies, and areas of concern, particularly relating to firestopping.
  • Identify missing or relevant documentation and have the confidence to ask for information where it is available or should reasonably be provided.
  • Complete detailed and accurate survey reports based on your site observations.
  • Produce a thorough introduction and site overview, particularly where relevant information or documentation has not been made available.
  • Make appropriate duty of care comment recommendations based on your findings.
  • Provide remedial estimates. Our software automatically prices works based on SORs, but there will be occasions where professional judgement and logical application of the information will be required.
  • Take responsibility for the quality and accuracy of your surveys and reports.
  • Use initiative to identify problems, seek further information, and determine the appropriate course of action.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Once fully trained and approved, you will also have the opportunity to edit and develop surveying templates where required. We are looking for someone who can contribute to improving the surveying process rather than simply following a set template.

In Summary

We need an experienced surveyor who understands what they are looking at, knows what questions to ask, and can make sound professional judgements when information is incomplete.

If you have strong compartmentation and firestopping experience, are confident working independently, and are looking for a role where your technical knowledge and initiative are valued, we’d like to hear from you.

Salary: £35,000–£50,000 + expenses

UK-wide travel and overnight stays required.
