Job Description
We're looking for a Global Compensation Advisor to join our Reward team and help shape fair, competitive and data-driven pay practices across our global workforce.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly visible team at the centre of Sage's global reward operations. You'll partner with teams across Reward, People, Finance and the wider business to provide expert compensation guidance, support key reward programmes and help drive equitable pay decisions that support our colleagues and business objectives.
At Sage we have a hybrid working pattern - candidates must be able to work in the Newcastle office 3 days a week and 2 from home.
This role is a 12 month fixed term contract.
Key Responsibilities
What will you be doing?
- Provide expert compensation advice to leaders, People teams and colleagues across the business
- Act as the escalation point for complex reward and compensation queries
- Manage end-to-end compensation cases, including salary reviews, promotions, pay exceptions and governance activities
- Evaluate roles using established job evaluation and levelling methodologies, including Willis Towers Watson frameworks
- Partner with business leaders to deliver data-driven pay recommendations that balance market competitiveness, internal equity and business needs
- Support annual reward activities including salary reviews, bonus cycles and Gender Pay Gap reporting
- Maintain high-quality compensation data through audits, reporting and process controls
- Complete salary benchmarking surveys and provide compensation insights to stakeholders
- Build strong relationships across Reward, Payroll, Finance, HRIS and leadership teams to help deliver an exceptional colleague experience
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance compensation governance and operational efficiency

You'll likely bring:
- Experience in Compensation, Reward, HR Operations, People Advisory or a related discipline
- Knowledge of job evaluation methodologies, salary benchmarking and compensation governance
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into meaningful recommendations
- Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with large datasets
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- A detail-oriented and solutions-focused approach
- The ability to balance governance requirements with commercial business needs
- Experience supporting annual reward review processes
- Confidence influencing and partnering with stakeholders at different levels across an organisation
