About The Role

- Job architecture & pay structures: govern job families, bands, levels, and role profiles, and own salary range design — spreads, control points, and market positioning — keeping structures defensible and affordable with Finance
- Benchmarking & market data: own benchmarking and survey matching (WTW, McLagan), assuring quality and producing market insight
- Pay methodology & total reward: design pay methodology — new-hire positioning, the annual pay review, and band-progression programmes — own modeling and review, and advise on the whole remuneration package, including annual and long-term incentives
- Pay transparency, gender & equal pay: deliver gender pay, equal pay, and transparency readiness to the strategy set by the Head of Reward & Performance, recommending remediation with clear evidence
- Governance & insight: draft and maintain remuneration policy for approval, prepare materials for local boards and colleague forums, produce executive-quality insight, and develop the Reward Analyst

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
