Compensation Manager | London
An international, City of London based financial services business have a newly created role available - Compensation Manager.
This is a hands-on Compensation Manager role which will partner closely with senior leaders and take full ownership of compensation processes for designated business areas.
This is a highly practical, delivery-focused role. You will not just advise - you will actively own forecasting, modelling, analysis, data management and the end-to-end execution of the annual compensation cycle.
Key responsibilities include:
- Acting as the primary compensation partner for designated departments, providing direct insight and challenge to senior management up to ExCo level
- Owning the full compensation forecasting process, including detailed reconciliation of forecast versions and variance analysis versus actuals
- Building compensation models to support hiring decisions, organisational changes and scenario planning
- Running the annual compensation round end-to-end: gaining approval for base pay increases, managing profit pools, facilitating department and individual allocations, and administering payments
- Coordinating market survey participation, analysing results and conducting formal job evaluation studies
- Preparing special studies and recommendations on base pay, variable pay, equity and related programmes
- Creating management and employee communication materials, including Compensation and Total Reward Statements
- Reviewing and drafting compensation wording for employment offer letters and contracts
- Compiling data and drafting content for public disclosures, regulatory responses and client RFPs
- Preparing board materials as required

About you:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics or equivalent, or significant relevant experience
- Proven experience partnering with senior management up to ExCo level
- Strong FP&A, management reporting or business partnering background across multiple functions
- Highly analytical with the ability to handle large volumes of data accurately
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Excellent attention to detail, communication and organisational skills
- Comfortable working hands-on while also thinking strategically

Desirable:
- Knowledge of compensation practices, laws and regulations
- Experience with Power BI, Anaplan or similar tools
- Job evaluation experience
- Investment management industry background
