Douglas Scott Legal Recruitment are representing a leading US law firm in the appointment of a Competition & Antitrust Associate with 2-6 years’ PQE to join its highly regarded London practice.
The Team
The London Competition & Antitrust team works on some of the most complex and high-profile international transactional matters, advising leading corporates, private equity sponsors and financial institutions.
- The team has a strong international platform, working closely with colleagues across the firm's global network on sophisticated cross-border transactions.
The Role
This is a purely transactional competition role, with a focus on advising on the competition and regulatory aspects of major M&A and investment transactions.

- UK and EU merger control
- CMA and European Commission matters
- Foreign investment and FDI regimes
- Competition advice on complex M&A and private equity transactions
- Phase I and Phase II merger investigations
- Multi-jurisdictional merger control strategy
- Regulatory engagement and clearance
- Competition issues arising from cross-border transactions
The successful candidate will gain significant exposure to high-value, complex and international transactions, working alongside leading Partners and colleagues across the firm's global network.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have 2-6 years’ PQE and experience within a strong competition/antitrust practice.
- A predominantly transactional background is essential, with strong experience in merger control and/or foreign investment.
- Experience advising on complex cross-border M&A or private equity transactions would be particularly attractive.
- The successful candidate will be technically excellent, commercially minded and comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-performing international environment.
