Competitive Intelligence Business Manager

Competitive Intelligence Business Manager is responsible for generating insight-driven analysis to support senior management decision-making and sustainable growth across the EMEA region. The individual will focus on delivering robust strategic and competitive intelligence.

Description

Competitive Intelligence Business Manager will contribute to EMEA's growth agenda by supporting the development of strategic priorities, including portfolio optimisation and the identification of mid- to long-term growth opportunities. This will involve evaluating competitive positioning and translating insights into actionable recommendations to inform business and investment/divestment decisions.

  • Conduct in-depth Competitive & Peer Analysis of publicly disclosed materials (annual reports, investor presentations, earnings releases and other data source) across peer institutions such as European banks, US banks and other banks.
  • Lead consultancy efforts to identify and implement strategic business improvements.
  • Drive organisational change initiatives to align with business objectives.
  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders to develop and execute enterprise-wide strategies.
  • Expand coverage beyond traditional banks to include non-bank financial institutions and relevant ecosystem players (e.g., fintechs, asset managers, payments).
  • Track and analyse AI adoption trends and digital transformation initiatives across peers and adjacent industries.
  • Build structured benchmarking frameworks covering financial, strategic, and operational metrics.
  • Identify competitive positioning, strategic direction, and capital allocation trends based on disclosed information.
  • Monitor performance metrics and provide regular updates to leadership.
  • Mentor and guide teams to foster professional growth and achieve goals.

Strategic Insight & Advisory

  • Translating competitive analysis into clear, actionable insights for senior management and stakeholders.
  • Provide analytical input to inform key strategic initiatives, business investments, and portfolio transformation.

Executive Reporting & Internal Deliverables

  • Preparing high-quality internal reports and briefing materials on competitive dynamics and strategic implications.
  • Develop presentations for management committees or key meetings, ensuring clarity, consistency, and impact.
  • Track and synthesise key competitor developments, including strategy updates, financial performance, and organisational changes.
  • Maintain up-to-date competitive dashboards and analysis packs for ongoing reference.

Profile

Competitive Intelligence Business Manager Experience

  • Experience in competitive intelligence function in large financial services institutions.
  • Experience in top-tier financial institutions or leading strategy/management consultancies is highly desirable.
  • Strong numerical, financial, statistics and logical thinking skills.
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, accounting principles, and financial analysis is beneficial.
  • Effective presentation and writing skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Analytical thinking and a solution-oriented approach to challenges.

Job Offer

  • Competitive salary ranging from £125,000 to £155,000 dependent on the level of experience.
  • Standard benefits package.
  • Permanent position based in London.
