Role Overview
We’re looking for a Complaints Resolution Advisor to join our Complaints & Resolution team on a 18 month FTC in either our Hatfield or Folkestone office.
Reporting to the Complaints & Resolution Team Leader, you’ll be the first point of escalation when our Contact Centre colleagues are unable to resolve a customer’s concerns.
You’ll take ownership of complaints, understand what matters to the customer, investigate issues and work with teams across Affinity Water to find a fair and effective resolution — ideally within 24 hours.
You’ll also help us identify recurring issues and customer trends, using feedback to improve our services and reduce repeat complaints.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle customer escalations and take ownership of complaints through to resolution.
- Speak with customers to understand their concerns and agree appropriate solutions.
- Investigate issues and work with colleagues across the business to resolve them.
- Aim to resolve complaints within 24 hours and ensure customers receive timely updates.
- Accurately record complaint information, actions and outcomes.
- Identify trends and recurring issues and share feedback to help improve our service.
- Support inbox management, trackers and other team administration.
- Follow relevant policies, GDPR requirements and regulatory expectations.
Requirements
We’re looking for someone who is customer-focused, resilient and solution-oriented, with the confidence to handle challenging conversations.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
