Caring Support Workers Needed in Ferndown, Dorset

We are currently recruiting for compassionate and supportive carers and support workers to join a brand-new team to support one of our young clients.

About the Role

Our client lives in the Ferndown area in Dorset requires support 24 hours a day 7 days a week with 2 care workers in the day and 1 care worker at night. She will require support with personal care and all daily living and social activities as she is a wheelchair user and has a physical and learning disability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist our service user on a day to day basis.
  • Support with personal care and daily living tasks.
  • Attend community groups and day-centre twice a week.
  • Ensure she is safe, happy, and well.
  • Be a companion and support with hobbies and interests.
  • Plan day to day activities including fun days out.
  • Liaise with mum and dad on a regular basis.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience of working within the care sector will be advantageous.
  • A real interest and passion in supporting people with disabilities to live fulfilled lives is essential.
  • We provide an extensive training programme including the Care Certificate as well as complex care training.

Ideal Candidate Attributes

  • A driving license and access to their own vehicle is advantageous, however, this is not essential as we are looking for a mixture of drivers and non-drivers to join our Service Users team.

  • We are offering both 0 hour contracts and full time contracts of up to 40hrs per week with payrates of £13.35 per hour.
  • Shifts consist of:
    • 7am- 2:30pm / 2:30 - 10pm
    • 7am-3:30pm / 3:30pm-10pm
  • (Flexible hours are available on request)
  • Shifts are both weekdays and weekends.
