About the Role

We are looking for compassionate, resilient and committed Complex Needs & Behavioural Support Workers to join our team supporting children and young people living in a supported living environment.

The young people we support may experience periods of emotional distress and may display behaviours including verbal or physical aggression, violence, self-injurious behaviour, suicidal thoughts or suicide attempts, emotional dysregulation and other high-risk behaviours.

You will play a vital role in providing a safe, consistent and nurturing environment, helping each young person develop their independence, emotional regulation, confidence and life skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing high-quality, person-centred support to children and young people with complex needs.
  • Supporting young people who may display behaviours that challenge.
  • Recognising individual triggers, warning signs and patterns of behaviour and responding appropriately.
  • Supporting young people during periods of emotional distress or crisis.
  • Following individual care plans, risk assessments and behaviour support plans.
  • Supporting individuals who may present a risk of self-harm or suicidal behaviour, in line with safeguarding and organisational procedures.
  • Responding safely and professionally to incidents involving aggression or violence.
  • Using agreed de-escalation and positive behavioural support techniques.
  • Maintaining professional boundaries while building trusting and positive relationships.
  • Supporting with personal care and complex care needs where required.
  • Encouraging independence and supporting young people to develop practical and social skills.
  • Supporting education, appointments, activities and community engagement.
  • Maintaining accurate daily records, incident reports and relevant documentation.
  • Working closely with families, social workers, healthcare professionals, schools and other agencies.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
