The Role
Catastrophic Injury Associate – Manchester – Hybrid – Up to £53,000
A leading defendant insurance law firm is seeking an experienced Complex Injury Associate to join its specialist team in Manchester. This is an excellent opportunity for a talented personal injury lawyer to work on complex, high-value claims on behalf of major insurer clients, within a highly regarded national practice.
As a Complex Injury Associate in Manchester, you’ll manage a varied caseload of serious and complex injury matters, including life-changing and multi-million-pound claims. You’ll work closely with experienced lawyers and Partners on technically challenging litigation, while developing your expertise within a specialist and supportive team.
Responsibilities
- Managing a caseload of complex injury and large loss claims from inception through to resolution
- Handling serious and life-changing injury matters, including multi-million-pound claims
- Conducting detailed investigations into liability, causation and quantum
- Drafting pleadings, witness statements and other legal documentation
- Liaising with clients, counsel, experts and other key stakeholders
- Developing and implementing effective case strategies to achieve the best possible outcomes for clients
- Attending conferences, mediations and court hearings where required
- Working closely with Partners and senior lawyers on complex and high-value litigation
- Ensuring matters are progressed in line with client service standards and court deadlines

Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor, Chartered Legal Executive or experienced Litigation Executive
- Strong experience handling catastrophic injury, large loss or complex personal injury claims
- Solid understanding of the litigation process and Civil Procedure Rules
- Experience acting for or dealing with insurer clients is advantageous
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail
- Excellent drafting, communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines effectively
- Commercially aware, with a proactive and strategic approach to case handling
- Collaborative team player who is equally comfortable working independently
