Your new company
Our client is a highly regarded national law firm seeking a Complex EL/PL Solicitor to join its Manchester or Leeds office. The firm has an established reputation within the insurance market and advises a broad range of insurer, corporate and public sector clients on complex casualty claims.
Your new role
You will handle a caseload of complex Employers' Liability and Public Liability claims, including litigated and higher-value matters. The role offers exposure to challenging work, sophisticated clients and excellent opportunities for long-term career progression.
Key responsibilities:
- Managing a caseload of complex EL/PL claims from instruction through to conclusion.
- Investigating liability, causation and quantum issues.
- Preparing detailed legal advice and litigation strategies for insurer clients.
- Drafting pleadings, applications, witness statements and settlement documentation.
- Liaising with counsel, experts, insurers and insured clients.
- Negotiating settlements and attending court hearings where appropriate.
- Assisting with mentoring junior team members and contributing to business development activities.

What you'll need to succeed
- Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with 2-6 years' PQE.
- Experience handling defendant EL/PL claims (preferable)
- Strong technical litigation skills and a sound understanding of EL/PL claims.
- Experience of managing complex and higher-value matters.
- Excellent analytical, organisational and communication skills.
- A client-focused and commercially minded approach.
