Financial Crime Analyst
Location: Watford, Hertfordshire (5 days a week)
Salary: Competitive + Excellent Benefits
We're partnering with a growing and highly regarded specialist financial services organisation to recruit an experienced Financial Crime Analyst.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative and fast-paced compliance function where you'll play a key role in protecting the business from financial crime while supporting excellent customer outcomes. If you have experience in AML, KYC, Financial Crime or Fraud Prevention within financial services and enjoy making risk-based decisions, we'd love to hear from you.
The Opportunity
Working within an established Risk & Compliance team, you'll take ownership of financial crime investigations and customer due diligence, helping ensure the business meets its regulatory obligations while maintaining a pragmatic, commercial approach to risk.
This role offers excellent exposure across financial crime operations, compliance and stakeholder engagement, making it ideal for someone looking to continue developing their career within a growing regulated business.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed financial crime and AML reviews on new and existing customer relationships.
- Assess customer risk profiles, including source of funds, source of wealth and beneficial ownership.
- Complete Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) investigations where required.
- Review and investigate screening alerts relating to sanctions, Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs), adverse media and watchlists.
- Provide guidance to operational teams on AML and financial crime-related matters.
- Maintain accurate compliance records and case management documentation.
- Support internal audits, regulatory reviews and file testing activities.
- Assist with the ongoing management and optimisation of financial crime screening and monitoring systems.
- Identify opportunities to improve controls, processes and customer outcomes.
About You
You'll be a proactive and analytical compliance professional who enjoys investigating risk and making informed decisions.
You'll ideally have:
- Previous Financial Crime, AML, KYC or Fraud experience within a regulated financial services business.
- Strong understanding of UK AML regulations and financial crime frameworks.
- Experience conducting customer due diligence and enhanced due diligence investigations.
- Knowledge of sanctions screening, PEP reviews and adverse media investigations.
- Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
- The confidence to make risk-based decisions and communicate them clearly.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience using Excel and reporting tools such as Power BI (or similar) would be advantageous.
