What you will do in your day to day…
We are looking for a Compliance Analyst in London, responsible for supporting the maintenance and continuous improvement of the Branch Compliance Framework, helping ensure that the Branch conducts its activities in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements, internal policies and industry best practices.
The role requires a solid understanding of Financial Crime, Compliance Risk and UK regulatory requirements, including FCA and PRA expectations, and provides exposure across a broad range of compliance, governance, regulatory change and risk management activities.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Support the maintenance and continuous improvement of the Compliance Framework, including risk assessments, monitoring activities and control reviews.
- Assist with the preparation, review and update of compliance policies, procedures, manuals and governance documentation.
- Prepare compliance management information, metrics and reporting, ensuring data accuracy, completeness and timely delivery.
- Support the preparation and coordination of Compliance Committees and other governance forums, including presentations, supporting documentation, action tracking and follow-up.
- Maintain compliance records, inventories and governance documentation for reporting, audit and regulatory purposes.
- Coordinate with Branch and Group stakeholders to support compliance initiatives, governance activities and regulatory requirements.
- Support the design, implementation and continuous enhancement of the Financial Crime Framework including governance arrangements, policies, procedures and control frameworks.
- Perform KYC, Customer Due Diligence (CDD), Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) and periodic review activities using a risk-based approach throughout the client lifecycle.
- Review and assess transaction monitoring and sanctions screening alerts, ensuring appropriate investigation, challenge, escalation and resolution.
- Identify, assess and monitor Financial Crime risks, including money laundering, terrorist financing, sanctions, bribery and corruption, fraud, tax evasion and emerging economic crime threats.
- Contribute to Financial Crime Risk Assessments, thematic reviews and control effectiveness assessments.
- Support Financial Crime investigations, suspicious activity escalation processes and regulatory reporting obligations.
- Support the MLRO function and act as Deputy MLRO where required.
- Monitor the implementation of audit actions, regulatory commitments and remediation plans related to Financial Crime.
- Prepare and analyse Financial Crime management information and reporting.
- Support engagement with regulators, Group functions and assurance providers regarding Financial Crime reviews and requests.
- Promote a strong Financial Crime culture through advisory support, training activities, regulatory monitoring and industry best practices.
- Support the implementation and monitoring of Anti-Bribery & Corruption, Fraud Prevention and other Financial Crime controls.
- Support the identification, assessment and management of non-financial compliance risks across the Branch.
- Oversee Data Protection-related activities, including regulatory monitoring, risk assessments and control reviews.
- Support Market Integrity requirements, including controls over confidential information, personal account dealing monitoring and conduct obligations.
- Contribute to Customer Protection initiatives, helping ensure fair customer outcomes.
- Assess new and emerging regulatory requirements, supporting impact assessments and implementation plans.
- Support the Branch Ethics and Conduct Framework, including conflicts of interest, staff conduct matters and whistleblowing arrangements.
- Record and monitor complaints and customer expressions of dissatisfaction.
- Collect, analyse and evaluate data from multiple internal and external sources.
- Manage, cleanse and aggregate datasets, ensuring integrity and traceability.
- Perform advanced data analysis linking multiple data sources to provide insights into compliance risks and exposures.
- Apply data visualisation techniques using tools such as Power BI.
- Leverage emerging technologies, including AI where appropriate, to enhance reporting and analytical capabilities.
- Translate complex data into clear and actionable insights for different stakeholders.

- Degree in Law, Economics, Business Administration or a related discipline.
- Fluent English and Spanish, both written and spoken.
- Good knowledge of AML, CFT, Financial Crime and Compliance Risk within a regulated financial services environment.
- Practical knowledge of UK regulatory frameworks, including FCA and PRA requirements.
- Experience supporting Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and KYC-related activities.
- Strong analytical and data management capabilities, including experience collecting, validating and interpreting data from multiple sources.
- Knowledge of Power BI, data analysis techniques and emerging technologies, including AI.
- Experience or capability in process improvement and supporting the implementation of more effective and scalable compliance and risk processes.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to engage constructively, challenge appropriately and influence outcomes.
- High attention to detail and ability to produce accurate, structured and high-quality documentation and reporting.
- Industry-recognised qualifications such as ICA, CISI, ACAMS or IRM are desirable but not essential.
- Flexible, adaptable and proactive approach, with strong organisational skills and commitment to continuous learning.
