Why this role matters:

At OVO, our mission is simple but huge: solve the climate crisis through Plan Zero.

As a Compliance Analyst in our Policy & Regulation team, you’ll be a key member driving our strategic compliance initiatives and maintaining regulatory excellence. By analysing and distilling complex energy regulations into practical, informative advice, you'll ensure operational risks are well understood and mitigated as we shape policies that drive our net zero ambitions.

What you’ll be doing:

Reporting directly to the Compliance Manager, you'll work independently to keep our regulatory compliance activities running seamlessly:

  • Risk-Aware Operations: Analyse and distill complex regulations to provide clear, accurate, and timely advice to operational and commercial teams, ensuring risks are understood and mitigated.
  • Business Collaboration: Build strong internal relationships to seamlessly integrate compliance support into business-wide projects and planned changes.
  • Knowledge Building: Design training materials, practical guides, and advice notes that shape and inform business policy and practice.
  • Regulatory Implementation: Develop an in-depth understanding of new rules and regulations, supporting business areas through their implementation approaches.
  • Compliance Culture Advocacy: Advocate for regulatory integrity, actively promoting good practices and the Standards of Conduct across OVO.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

  • Organisation & Adaptability: Ability to prioritise tasks effectively, manage your own workload, and adapt seamlessly to changing priorities.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of explaining complex rules in plain language and building strong relationships.

Nice to have (but not essential):

  • Prior experience using workflow tools like Jira.

Where & how you’ll work:

We believe in flexibility that works. You’ll be assigned to your closest hub office (Bristol, Glasgow, or London). We expect hub-based team members in the office at least once a week for collaborative days and in-person OVO Connection events, combined with flexible work-from-home options.
