Compliance & HR Manager
Chase Lodge Health Group
Covering Chase Lodge Hospital (Mill Hill, NW7), Haringey Hospital (Green Lanes, N8) and Abbey Wood Hospital (SE2)
Reports to: Chief Executive Officer & CQC Registered Manager
Location: On-site across all three hospital sites (remote working by negotiation)
Hours: 3 days per week initially, with availability to increase as the group expands
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Contract: Permanent
About the Group
Chase Lodge Health Group is a growing, vertically integrated independent healthcare provider delivering hospital, day-surgery, diagnostic, laboratory, pharmacy, and outpatient specialist services to both private and NHS patients. We are scaling a modern day-hospital and urgent-care model across three London sites, with expanding capability in surgery, imaging, and oncology-related services. As the group grows, robust governance and compliance are central to our strategy. We are seeking a capable, self-directed Compliance & HR Manager to hold this function across all three sites and act as the operational backbone of our regulatory and workforce compliance.
The Role
Reporting directly to the CEO (who is also the CQC Registered Manager), you will take delegated responsibility for the group's compliance, governance, and human-resources functions across all three hospitals. This is a broad, hands-on role suited to someone who is comfortable working autonomously, moving between sites, and holding multiple regulatory workstreams at once.
The post is offered initially on a three-day-per-week basis. Given the pace of the group's development, the successful candidate should be available to increase their hours as the workload grows. The role is predominantly on-site across the three locations; any remote working will be agreed by negotiation and structured around on-site inspection, audit, and staff-facing commitments.
Key Responsibilities
Regulatory Compliance & CQC Governance
- Act as the CEO's delegate on day-to-day CQC compliance across all three registered locations, maintaining readiness against the CQC Single Assessment Framework at all times.
- Plan, conduct, and document a rolling programme of clinical and non-clinical audits, tracking actions through to closure.
- Undertake and maintain risk assessments across sites (clinical, health & safety, fire, COSHH, infection prevention and control, and environmental).
- Own the compliance calendar: monitor and diarise all licence, registration, certification, and insurance renewals, escalating well ahead of expiry. This includes, but is not limited to, CQC registration, controlled-drugs governance, the pharmacy WDA(H)/MHRA obligations, IRMER/radiation and imaging-equipment compliance, and pathology/laboratory accreditation requirements.
- Manage the group's insurance portfolio renewals and evidence trail (medical malpractice, employers' liability, public liability, buildings, and equipment).
- Maintain the policy and procedure library, ensuring documents are current, version-controlled, ratified, and accessible across all sites.
- Operate the incident-reporting and governance framework, including logging, investigation support, duty-of-candour tracking, and trend analysis for governance meetings.
- Support information governance and data protection compliance, including the Data Security and Protection Toolkit (DSPT) and GDPR obligations.
- Prepare the group for CQC inspections and third-party audits (insurer, NHS commissioner, MHRA, UKAS-aligned laboratory reviews), and coordinate responses and action plans arising from them.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
