Dalcour Maclaren Compliance, Risk and Safety Lead

We are looking for a proactive and experienced Compliance, Risk and Safety Lead responsible for ensuring Dalcour Maclaren (DM) maintains effective Health & Safety, Risk Management, Business Continuity and Compliance frameworks that support safe, resilient and legally compliant operations.

Role Purpose

You will provide leadership and oversight across governance, assurance and compliance activities, ensuring policies, controls and processes remain effective, embedded and aligned to regulatory and business requirements. Working closely with Executive and Senior Leadership Teams, you will deliver risk and compliance reporting, manage audits and accreditations, and provide expert guidance on emerging risks, legislative changes and organisational compliance obligations.

You will drive a culture of continuous improvement, accountability and operational excellence, while working collaboratively across the business to ensure risk, safety and compliance controls are consistently applied and support the successful delivery of strategic and operational objectives.

Key Responsibilities for the role

  • Lead, maintain, and enhance DM’s Health and Safety Management System, including processes, procedures, risk assessments and incident investigations.
  • Ensure robust governance and record-keeping for safety audits, accident/incident logs, inspections, and operational registers.
  • Ensure data-driven compliance reporting and insights are in place for SLT, Exec and H&S Steer Committee.
  • Ensure Regulatory & Legal compliance for the company, including applicable H&S legislation, codes of practice, and industry standards.
  • Own and maintain the organisation-wide Risk Management Framework, facilitating risk reviews with Executive and Senior Leadership Teams. Lead vendor and supplier assurance processes, including onboarding and periodic review.
  • Support tender and bid submissions, ensuring compliance requirements are met.
  • Own Business Continuity and Crisis Governance framework, with delivery and assurance supported by the Compliance & Audit Manager.
  • Lead wider compliance function, ensuring overall governance and assurance is in place to support Dalcour Maclaren, including;
    • Oversee external audits and accreditations, ensuring the business is prepared and compliant year‑round.
    • Ensure Policy Management Framework is in place, ensuring alignment with risk, regulatory, and operational requirements
    • Set standards and provide oversight for PPE, DSC and related operational compliance requirements, ensuring consistent application across DM.
    • Support in the defining of training requirements and oversee delivery of compliance and safety training programmes.
    • Accountable for Data and Information Protection Governance Framework, with operation delivery through the DPO, Compliance & Audit Manager.
    • Provide proactive subject matter expertise to SLT on emerging risks, trends, and compliance changes.
    • Collaborate closely with the wider Operations Team (Facilities and IT) to ensure operational and technological alignment on risk and safety controls

  • Track record in leading and maintaining Health & Safety, risk and compliance frameworks across the business.
  • Experience ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Proven ability to manage risk assessments, incident investigations, audits and assurance activities.
  • Experience delivering clear risk and compliance reporting to senior leadership and executive teams.
  • Knowledge of business continuity, crisis management and supplier assurance processes.
  • Ideally hold a recognised Health & Safety qualification (e.g. NEBOSH Diploma, CMIOSH or equivalent).
