We have an exciting opportunity for a Compliance & Risk Apprentice to join our Reinsurance division in London for an 18 month placement. You’ll play an important role in supporting our UK branch operations alongside our Compliance Officer. This is a great opportunity to learn compliance and risk fundamentals in a collaborative, global environment.
What is a Compliance & Risk Apprenticeship?
This 18-month program is your chance to begin or advance your career in financial services while earning a Level 3 Compliance & Risk qualification.
Compliance is all about helping businesses follow the rules - like keeping data safe and preventing financial crime. Risk management means spotting potential problems before they happen and making sure companies stay secure and trusted.
You’ll join a global reinsurance company in London, learning how the insurance/reinsurance market works and why compliance is so important. From supporting teams with regulations to helping protect against fraud, you’ll play a key role in keeping the business safe and fair.

Key Responsibilities:
- Providing advice, guidance and support for assigned business areas.
- Supporting the business in the implementation of new regulation.
- Supporting the Compliance Officer in the delivery of our Annual Compliance Plan.
- Promoting a robust, transparent compliance and risk culture.
- Assisting with the identification, assessment, advice, monitoring and reporting against the applicable regulatory codes, laws and regulations impacting on reinsurance compliance.
- Assisting in compliance monitoring reviews and reports.
- Assisting in the preparation of Compliance reporting to senior management including contribution to board and committee reports to ensure senior management and Board members are up to date and aware of key compliance issues and actions required.
- Maintenance of the compliance registers.
- Carry out testing and review of our key controls, in liaison with second and third line of defence teams, including risk management and internal audit.
What We’re Looking For:
- Strong problem-solving and numeracy skills
- You will have achieved (or be predicted) three A-levels or equivalent Level 3 qualifications (such as BTEC, T Level, or Advanced Apprenticeship)
- Motivation to learn and develop in compliance and risk management.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- No prior insurance experience required but preferred.
- A proactive attitude and willingness to grow!
