Role Description
The Compliance Assistant is a full-time, on-site role based in Chudleigh, supporting the firm’s adherence to relevant tax, financial, and regulatory requirements. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

- Monitoring compliance with tax and accounting regulations
- Assisting with documentation and record-keeping
- Supporting the preparation of tax returns, VAT submissions, and payroll-related filings
- Reviewing client data for accuracy
- Identifying potential compliance risks
- Escalating issues to senior team members where needed

The Compliance Assistant will also communicate with internal colleagues and, when appropriate, clients to clarify requirements, gather information, and contribute to the continuous improvement of compliance processes.
Qualifications
- Ability to apply Regulatory Compliance knowledge to tax, accounting, and financial processes.
- Strong Analytical Skills to review data, identify discrepancies, and support risk assessment.
- Clear and professional Communication skills for working with colleagues and clients.
- Basic understanding of Law related to tax and financial regulations, or willingness to develop this knowledge.
- Foundational Finance skills and familiarity with accounting principles and practice.
- Relevant education or training in accounting, finance, business, or a related field (professional qualifications or progress toward them are an advantage).
- Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Proficiency with common office software and willingness to learn new systems and tools.
