Position Overview
Equipt is seeking an organized, detail-oriented, and missionally minded Compliance Assistant to support Equipt and our ministry partners in maintaining healthy and effective compliance practices.
This role is about more than completing filings and tracking deadlines. The Compliance Assistant comes alongside churches, missionaries, and ministry leaders to help them understand established requirements, navigate important processes, and build strong administrative foundations for their ministries.
The ideal candidate enjoys organization, details, and follow-through while also having a heart for serving, supporting, and equipping ministry leaders.

Key Responsibilities
Compliance Administration & Records
- Process routine state filings, annual reports, registrations, and renewals
- Maintain corporate, entity, governance, and compliance records
- Track compliance calendars, deadlines, and outstanding requirements
- Maintain organized compliance records and documentation, following up on missing information and supporting document-retention requirements

Insurance, Employment & Risk Support
- Coordinate certificates of insurance and maintain insurance documentation
- Assist with routine insurance renewals and information gathering
- Administer background checks and track Child Protection requirements
- Maintain required employee, contractor, clergy, and personnel compliance documentation
- Escalate issues requiring additional compliance judgment
Partner Support, Launches & Transitions
- Complete assigned Compliance responsibilities for new partner launches and transitions
- Assist with entity setup, registrations, governance records, insurance, and employment-related compliance processes
- Help partners understand established requirements, deadlines, and documentation
- Provide practical guidance and resources that equip partners to maintain healthy compliance practices
- Coordinate completion of Compliance milestones with the Launch Coordinator
Audit & ECFA Support
- Gather and organize governance, policy, insurance, and compliance documentation
- Assist with audit, financial review, and ECFA preparation
- Track and follow up on outstanding compliance-related requests

- Heart for serving and equipping churches, missionaries, and ministry leaders

Preferred Experience
- Experience in compliance, nonprofit administration, HR, insurance, legal administration, or a related field
- Familiarity with nonprofit, church, or ministry operations
- Experience maintaining corporate or regulatory records
- Experience working with government filing systems or compliance platforms

Work Structure
- Part-time role (20-28 hours/week), Monday-Friday during standard business hours, with some flexibility in scheduling within those hours
- Hybrid work flexibility may be available based on weekly team needs and performance, but is not guaranteed
- Works closely with the Director of Compliance, with regular collaboration across Operations and Launch
- Matters requiring interpretation, exceptions, or specialized compliance judgment remain with the Director of Compliance
