Compliance Associate

Slough | £35k - £40k + 2.6k car allowance | Permanent

Background / Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Compliance Associate to join a growing financial services business within the luxury automotive finance sector.

Supporting the Compliance & Risk team, this role offers exposure to a broad range of compliance, regulatory and legal activities, making it ideal for someone looking to further develop their career within financial services compliance. Working closely with experienced compliance professionals, you will play an important role in ensuring regulatory obligations are met while contributing to the continuous improvement of internal processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting the preparation of regulatory submissions and compliance reporting.
  • Assisting with customer complaints, claims handling and FCA-related matters.
  • Preparing draft responses for customers and regulatory bodies where required.
  • Supporting contract drafting, review and document management.
  • Assisting with data protection and UK GDPR activities.
  • Monitoring regulatory developments and preparing internal summaries.
  • Maintaining compliance policies, procedures and documentation.
  • Supporting audits, risk assessments and internal compliance reviews.
  • Preparing reports, presentations and documentation for internal stakeholders.
  • Working collaboratively across Legal, Risk, Sales and wider business functions.

About you

  • Law degree or equivalent qualification or comparable qualification
  • 1-3 years' experience within a legal, regulatory or compliance environment.
  • Previous experience within financial services, consumer finance or a regulated industry would be advantageous.
  • An understanding of FCA regulations, particularly complaints handling (DISP)
  • Knowledge of UK GDPR and data protection principles.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced environment.
  • A proactive approach and willingness to learn and develop.
