Role: Compliance Attorney (Remote)

Location: Remote (Work from Anywhere)
Job Type: Contract
Payout: $90 - $150/hour

Role Overview:

We are hiring for one of our clients, seeking a Compliance Attorney to work on a contract basis. The role involves providing legal counsel to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions, with a focus on emerging technology sectors. Responsibilities include drafting and reviewing compliance policies, conducting risk assessments, and advising on data protection and privacy laws.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement compliance frameworks tailored to the client’s operational needs and regulatory obligations.
  • Review and update existing policies and procedures to align with evolving legal and industry standards.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify potential compliance gaps and recommend mitigations.
  • Provide guidance on cross-border regulatory requirements, particularly in technology and data-driven industries.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure compliance with federal, state, and international laws.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school with a focus on compliance, corporate law, or regulatory affairs.
  • Active membership in a state bar association, with at least 3 years of experience in compliance-related legal roles.
  • Deep knowledge of data privacy laws, such as GDPR, CCPA, or other relevant regulations.
  • Experience drafting and negotiating compliance policies, contracts, and legal documentation.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret complex regulatory texts and apply them to business operations.
