Salary: Up to £50,000 per annum, depending on experience

We are looking for a proactive and collaborative Compliance Business Partner to join our second line Risk and Compliance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced compliance professional who enjoys building strong relationships, providing trusted advice and challenge, and helping to shape compliance practices.

About the Role

As a Compliance Business Partner, you will provide expert compliance advice and support across the Society, ensuring regulatory requirements are understood and implemented effectively.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Acting as a trusted compliance adviser to provide expert compliance advice to key stakeholders across the Society.
  • Providing practical advice and challenge on regulatory matters and business change projects.
  • Building effective working relationships with colleagues, senior leaders, and Executive stakeholders.
  • Reviewing and challenging key governance documents, including policies and procedures.
  • Providing compliance advice across product governance arrangements.
  • Performing gap analyses against regulatory expectations and business operations.
  • Monitoring and assessing regulatory developments and communicating their impact to the business.
  • Producing concise and practical regulatory guidance and briefing materials.
  • Supporting the investigation and resolution of incidents, breaches, and regulatory issues.
  • Reviewing and challenging management information, including Consumer Duty data and customer outcome reporting.
  • Promoting a strong culture of compliance, risk awareness, and accountability.
  • Supporting the adoption of the Enterprise Risk Management Framework.
  • Leading initiatives to strengthen compliance standards and controls across the Society.
  • Developing and maintaining Compliance-owned policies and procedures.
  • Designing and delivering compliance training and awareness activities.
  • Supporting assurance activities and wider team objectives as required.

Experience

  • Experience of working in a Compliance Advisory role, within retail banking.
  • A strong understanding of the UK regulatory framework and FCA Handbook.
  • A relevant compliance, risk, or financial services qualification (desirable).
  • Experience interpreting and implementing regulatory requirements and industry guidance.

Skills

  • An excellent communicator with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Confident in influencing, advising, and constructively challenging stakeholders at all levels.
  • A strong relationship builder with a collaborative approach.
  • Organised and able to manage competing priorities effectively.
  • Analytical, inquisitive, and naturally curious.

  • Detail-oriented, with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
