Interim Compliance Consultant – Energy Trading
Location: London
Contract Type: 6-month contract

About the Role
We are collaborating with a rapidly expanding, technology-driven energy trading company that is seeking to integrate an experienced Compliance Consultant into its London team for an initial six-month contract. This position offers a comprehensive, hands-on experience, positioned near the trading operations and ideal for individuals who thrive in direct interaction with Front Office teams, rather than in a solely oversight-focused compliance role.

Responsibilities
Working within a streamlined compliance team, your duties will encompass:
- Compliance advisory
- Trade surveillance and monitoring
- Day-to-day regulatory and compliance issues
- Assisting Front Office and trading teams
- Collaborating closely with Trading Risk, Operations, and Trade Support
- Engaging with exchanges, brokers, and other external counterparties
Requirements
We are seeking a candidate with:
- Approximately 5–8+ years of compliance experience
- Solid experience within an energy trading setting
- Proficiency in exchange-traded energy derivatives
- Demonstrated experience working closely with traders and Front Office stakeholders
- A practical, hands-on approach to compliance
- The capability to function independently and quickly adapt to new environments

Contract Details
The initial contract duration is six months, with the potential for extension or a permanent position for the suitable candidate.
The company is open to considering both day-rate contractors and fixed-term contract arrangements.
