Role Title: Compliance Consultant - General Insurance
Contract Type: 12 Month FTC
Salary: £70,000 + bonus & benefits
Hybrid: 1 day per week in the office
Location: Southampton
We’re working with a leading UK general insurer to appoint a Compliance Consultant on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking compliance function and play a key role in supporting both day-to-day operations and strategic initiatives.
As a Compliance Consultant, you’ll act as a trusted advisor to the business, providing pragmatic, commercially aware compliance guidance. You’ll ensure regulatory requirements are clearly understood, effectively embedded, and consistently applied across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide practical compliance advice across business-as-usual activities and projects
- Act as a subject matter expert on UK general insurance regulation and FCA requirements
- Support and maintain positive relationships with regulators
- Lead and challenge product governance and fair value assessments
- Prepare and deliver compliance governance reporting and MI
- Review and approve financial promotions and customer communications
- Monitor and report on compliance risks, incidents, and mitigation actions

Key Experience Required
- Proven experience in a compliance role within UK General Insurance
- Strong understanding of the FCA regulatory framework (Consumer Duty, PROD, etc.)
- Experience interacting with regulators and managing regulatory relationships
- Ability to interpret regulation and apply it pragmatically in a commercial environment
- Experience producing high-quality governance papers and reports
- Confident communicator, able to influence and challenge senior stakeholders
- Comfortable representing Compliance in committees and forums
