About The Role
We are looking for a Compliance Contract Officer (Asbestos & Water Hygiene) to join our Building Safety and Compliance Team.
Reporting to the Building Safety Manager, you will work as part of a team responsible for ensuring the stock portfolio and asset base is compliant and safe. The Compliance Contract Officer will be responsible for all operational aspects of risk areas assigned to the role. This will include implementation and monitoring adherence to relevant policies & procedures and ensuring KPIs relating to cyclical programmes, risk register actions, and maintenance works are achieved through effective management of their team, contractors, and performance dashboards.
To provide strong and dynamic leadership for the service areas that you manage, you will:
- Work collaboratively across all of SCH to ensure an integrated organisation which promotes and delivers the organisational vision.
- Adhere to the SCH Code of Conduct and enforce this across the Building Safety and Compliance Team.
- Provide management, supervision, direction, and support to all staff under your management.
- Inspire, motivate, and challenge staff to generate real commitment and a shared sense of purpose.
- Seek opportunities to empower direct reports through delegation, coaching, mentoring, and by personal example.
- Proactively encourage creativity, innovative thinking, and fresh ways of working.
- Prepare and present performance and statistical information on a regular basis to both internal and external stakeholders. Including the Head of Property Services and Building Safety, Operational Management Team, Executive Management Team, SCH Board, and all relevant Committees as required.
- Proactively encourage a performance and customer-focused high achieving culture across all service areas.

You will play a key role in ensuring our customers remain safe in their homes.
About You
You will:
- Have strong IT skills, particularly Excel and compliance/data management systems.
- Be highly organised and able to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines.
- Have strong communication skills and confidence dealing with customers and contractors.
- Have a systematic, detail-focused approach to work.
- Be able to identify issues early and take action to resolve them.
Experience in Asbestos Management, Surveying and Remediation, Water Hygiene Risk Assessment and Control Regimes, Compliance, or Housing Maintenance is desirable.

Our Building Safety and Compliance Team plays a critical role in ensuring compliance with legislation, protecting residents, and maintaining safe homes.
